Music for Sleep.

This collection of tracks was recorded direct to tape using a Tascam Porta Studio, Solo Baritone Guitar & effects. Recorded at home, the process was a live improvisation without any edits or additional takes as to capture the spontaneity & intent in the moment.

Somnium Quies is heavily inspired by the musical form of the Nocturne & evokes feelings of melancholia, Ma & Meditation. In Latin, ‘Somnium Quies’ translates to ‘Restful Dream’ or ‘Quiet Sleep’. The work is akin to an analogue photograph or a memory, a moment in time captured through sound.

Somnium Quies is an evolving work utilising the live process. The work is an inward exploration of sound and aims to develop and change over time through personal development & growth.

These tracks were recorded over an extended period from 2021 - 2023, each iteration changing and reflecting personal experiences.
